Every time there is an Apple launch around, the rumor mills don’t stop buzzing. The scheduled virtual event on October 13 is going to be a mega one, with now-almost-confirmed launch of iPhone 12 series. The wait for iPhone 12 series hasn’t been a long one, and while the brand is known for being extremely protective of specifications, there are always leaks around. If you intend to buy iPhone 12, we recommend that you check the details known so far.
The series
There are expected to be four flagship phones in the iPhone 12 series – iPhone 12 Mini, iPhone 12, iPhone 12 Pro, and iPhone 12 Pro Max. This is the first time that Apple has come up with a Mini version of any iPhone, which is certainly worth the excitement. A lot of leaked images of apparent iPhone 12 phones have appeared on the internet, which promises the standard design from Apple. The iPhone 12 Mini is likely to be the cheapest of the lot, priced somewhere around $699, and it remains to be seen if this is how Apple intends to complete with the Android devices in the same range. iPhone 12 Mini will also have a smaller screen size. iPhone 12 is expected to priced at $799 in the US, which is decent update from the Mini version, if the prices are correct. iPhone 12 Pro and iPhone 12 Pro Max are likely to be more expensive and are expected to get shipped only in November, although nothing has been confirmed officially so far.
The specifications
Expect the new iPhone 12 series to feature OLED displays, a first for the brand. The latest iPad launch from Apple in September featured the A14 Bionic chipset, which is expected to power the new phone series, as well. Not much is known about the RAM for now, but there are rumors of a 512GB variant for some models. All models from the range are expected to have iOS 14 out of the box, and there were some leaks that suggest that the Pro series may get a three-camera setup, while the other two will have dual cameras. All devices will have support for wireless charging, but there were some reports that suggested that the charger may not be included. For the iPhone price we pay, this could be a bummer.
The launch
iPhone 12 series is expected to set the standard high for Apple again. Should you consider upgrading? Hell, yeah! There is no denying that iPhone 12 will be an upgrade from iPhone 11, and if you want to try the first Mini iPhone from Apple, that price is worth it. That said, the reviews are likely to pour in soon, and the standard iPhone 12 will be up for preordering from October itself. There were rumors that it may take a while for iPhone 12 Pro series to get shipped, somewhere around mid-November.
